Bad Kleinkirchen is both a popular ski resort as well as a popular spa town. It is a lovely little Austrian town which sits very close to the Austrian, Italian and Slovenian borders. The skiing in Bad Kleinkirchheim is best suited to beginner and intermediate skiers. There is 103km of piste in total spread between Bad Kleinkirchheim and St Oswald which is just next door.
There are 18km of blue runs on offer in Bad Kleinkirchheim and the gentle nursery slopes are very easily accessed from the village centre.
Intermediate skiers are the ones who will get the most out of the skiing on offer in Bad Kleinkirchheim. There are 77km of red runs in Bad Kleinkirchheim which makes on almost 75% of the ski area.
Advanced skiers on holiday in Bad Kleinkirchheim will definitely want to test themselves on the famous Fraz Klammer World Cup Downhill run. In fact you might even be able to ski the run with Franz Klammer himself. He often holds guiding sessions but these must be pre booked as they are very popular for obvious reasons.
Intermediate snowboarders who love skiing on piste will really enjoy a snowboarding holiday in Bad Kleinkirchheim. There is even a decent snowpark called the “Q Park” which is located in St. Oswald.
Bad Kleinkirchheim is not exactly the place to head if you are after an 'Ibiza On Snow' but there is plenty of apres ski for those who enjoy the sociable side of a ski holiday. Many of the main bars that get busy during the early afternoon are located in the various hotels that are spread around the resort but there is a good mix of atmospheres to suit all taste.
