Ski resorts with short transfer times

France

If you are looking for a short transfer to and from the resort for your ski holiday then looking at the resorts which are close to Geneva airport is a good place to start. Morzine, Les Gets and Avoriaz are all within 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes from Geneva and give you access to a huge ski area, namely the Portes du Soleil. Chamonix is another resort which offer great skiing and is just 1 hour from Geneva. Another great option is Flaine, again only about 1 hour 10 minutes from Geneva Airport and gives you loads if skiing in the form of the Grand Massif.

Another option for skiing in France with a short transfer time is to look at getting flights in and out of Chambery. If all goes smoothly with your flight then you can land at Chambery and be at a whole host of resorts with 1 hour 30 mins to 2 hours. You Can get to resorts such as Tignes, Val d'Isere, Les Arcs, La Plagne, Val Thorens, Courchevel, Les Menuires, Meribel

Finally, it might also be an idea to look at the resorts of the southern French Alps which offer short and easy transfers to and from Grenoble. For example Alpe d’Huez and Les Deux Alps are 2 great resorts for short ski transfers as they are both just under 2 hours from Grenoble.

Austria

Many of the Austrian ski resorts offer fantastic short transfer times. You can land at Innsbruck and be at St Anton or Lech within about 1 hour. Likewise, the transfers to and from resorts such as Obergurgl, Solden and Mayrhofen are also really short once you have landed at Innsbruck. There are also a whole host of ski resorts that you can also get short transfers too from Salzburg. Saalbach and Hinterglemm as well as Zell am Zee and Kaprun just to name a few.

Italy

For Italian ski holidays with short transfers then one of the best areas to look at is the Milky Way, including resorts such as Sauze d’Oulx and Sestriere. With a flight into Turin you can be at both of these results within about 1 hour 30 minutes. Cervinia is another Italian ski resorts with a short transfer from Turin and you can be there within just under 2 hours. The other option is to fly into Innsbruck and then transfer down to Italy and cross over the Italian / Austrian border. From there you can get to a whole host of resorts that link onto the Sella Ronda Ski Circuit within about 2 hours. The transfer to Selva from Innsbruck is just 1 hour 45 minutes.
