If you are looking for a ski resort with an edge of exclusivity then there are a few obvious choices that stand out from the crowd. In France Courchevel 1850 has always been known as a play crowd for the rich and famous and in recent years much of the older budget accommodation has been knocked down to make way for luxury developments. Val d'Isere is another resort that is popular with those looking for top end chalets and hotels. Whilst there is a big more availability for budget accommodation in Val d'Isere there is also no shortage top end luxury chalets!
In Austria the resorts that instantly spring to mind when you mention the word exclusive are Lech, Obergurgl and Ischgl. There are not many options for luxury chalets in these resorts as the stock of chalets in general is pretty limited in Austria, but split between these 3 ski resorts there are some absolutely stunning hotels to choose from. The Hotel Elizabeth is one of the most luxurious hotels that Ischgl has to offer whilst the Hotel Berghof is one of the stand out hotels in Lech as it the Hotel Hochfirst in Obergugrl.
Moving onto Italy and you can't go far wrong with Cortina if you are after exclusive. Cortina shot to fame when it host the 1956 winter Olympic and it was also used as the setting for skiing scenes in James Bond For Your Eye Only. James Bond himself stays at the Hotel Miramonti Majestic.Cortina has long been a favourite for those in Italian high society.

But you can't write about exclusive Swiss resorts without mentioning St Moritz famous for its gliz and glamour and home to the rich and famous. The biggest event on the social calender in St Moritz is the White Turf horse races that take place on the frozen lake always attended by the international upper class.
