Canada Ski Holidays

Canada is famous for having an amazing snow record and if you are after a week (or more) of skiing powder then it is definitely one of the best countries to think about booking a ski holiday too. It is a long way to travel from the UK so most people look to book between 10-14 nights so as to allow for any time that is needed to get over any jet lag so as to make sure that you can really enjoy the skiing!

Where Is Best For A Ski Holiday In Canada?

Whistler is always the first resort that springs to mind whenever anyone thinks about Canada. It is one of the biggest resorts in North America and it has one of the best snow records going. The fact that you can ski on the Whilster Mountain and the Blackcomb mountains helps to give it a sense of having endless amounts of skiing! However, there are plenty of other resorts to think about as well. Banff is probably the next most famous resort in Canada and the full area lift pass covers 3 mountains worth of skiing including the famous resort of Lake Louise. Other resorts such as Fernie and Jasper are well worth checking out as well.

Where Do You Fly Into For Ski Holidays In Canada?

Many of the ski resorts in Canada are reached via flights into Calgary. Banff is one of the closest and is just a 1 hour 30 minute drive from Calgary airport. To reach Lake Louise you head slightly further West into the depths of the beautiful Banff National Park. In total Lake Louise is about 2 hours drive from Calgary. Other popular Canadian ski holiday destinations that can be reached from from Calgary are Fernie, Jasper and Kimberly.

If you are looking to ski on the West Coast then you will be skiing in British Columbia and you will more than likely want to fly into Vancouver. If you decide to you would prefer a ski holiday on the East Coast of Canada then you will probably be looking at staying in Tremblant in which case you will fly into Montreal and the drive from Montreal to Tremblant is about 1 hours 30 minutes.
