Staying at Chalet Jean France will allow you the opportunity to genuinely ski to and from the door, enjoy après ski bars on the doorstep and it's just minutes away from the traffic-free resort centre, where there are shops, cafés and the brilliant Aquariaz water park. A ski school meeting point is just meters away.

You really are at the heart of everything with the chalet sitting between two Apres ski bars, one being the Folie Douce. During the evening the area around the chalet becomes calm and quiet apart from the jingling bells of the horse sleighs trotting past. The neighbouring bars close by 6.00pm daily, ensuring a relaxing evening in the chalet. Early booking is recommended to secure your dates of choice, as this chalet is in very high demand.

Chalet Jean-France has 6 good-sized ensuite bedrooms spread over two floors, each one with a shower, and two rooms have a bath to soak in too. All rooms have twin beds and all can be made up as doubles; please let us know your preference when booking.

There's a spacious open-plan kitchen-diner on the first floor plus a lounge area with a Smart TV with usb port (French channels only, use your own account or device and cable) and DVD player, an open fireplace and a balcony boasting lovely views of the slopes and stunning sunsets. The chalet has a ski room so ski and board storage is no issue and it has boot dryers too. There is a bag store available during the day if you would like to ski on your arrival and departure day.

A snowcat resort taxi on arrival and departure in Avoriaz is included. This is a fun ride in a piste basher style vehicle, saving a 5 minute walk across snow from the Avoriaz Welcome Station (airport transfer drop off point and car park) to the chalet door, or you can take a magical horse and sleigh resort taxi (payable locally).

Chalet Jean France is a catered chalet with our Classic chalet board which consists of a continental with a cooked option breakfast, delicious afternoon tea and cake and a 3-course evening meal with wine included, all provided by your friendly host who lives out. Please note our chalet staff have 2 days off a week, a Wednesday and a Saturday. On these days they will leave continental only breakfast and afternoon tea out for you, but the evening meal is not provided, which gives you an opportunity to dine out in the resort, where there are plenty of lovely local restaurants, not to mention an excellent choice of bars and shops.

Meals in Chalet Jean France, Avoriaz

Our Classic chalet board has built a loyal following over many years. Each one of our Classic chalets has been hand-picked for their lovely alpine feel, superb location and traditional interior. As well as a welcome drink on your first day, you will start your morning in a classic chalet with a delicious hot and continental breakfast served to you by your friendly chalet host (5 days out of 7). Your host will ensure the chalet is kept sparklingly clean throughout your stay. After your day on the slopes you will return to your chalet where a sumptuous afternoon tea and home-made cake will be waiting. This is your moment to kick back and relax in front of the fire whilst your host prepares a delicious three course meal. In our Classic chalets the wine flows freely during dinner, and your host will always leave you with some extra for the rest of the evening. Your chalet host has Wednesday and Saturday off, when you can explore the local bars and restaurants. To ensure you can ski on your travel days before/after room checkout, there is always a place to change and a place to store your luggage throughout the day

Children:
If travelling with children under 4 years old you can only book this chalet for sole use

Arrival and Departure days:
Arrive on a Monday and stay for 3 or 7 nights
Arrive on a Thursday and stay for 4 or 7 nights
Chalet Hosts days off are Wednesday and Saturday (these days will vary over Christmas and New Year)

Check in/Out:

On arrival day - you may arrive at Chalet Violetta anytime from 09:30 to change, leave your bags and go skiing. Your bedroom will be ready by 17:00 at the latest but normally earlier.

Late Arrival Supplement - if you are scheduled to arrive at the chalet after 21:30 we will book a host to return to work to let you into the chalet, show you to your room, provide you with information to ensure your ski time is not delayed the next day and to provide you with a light supper. There is a small supplement for late arrivals.

On your departure day, bedroom checkout is 09:00 but we know that you may want to ski until the last minute, so we ensure that there is somewhere for you to leave your bags and change up until 5pm. Where possible a shower will be made available for you to use too; this cannot be guaranteed until your departure day.

Please note that on guest change over days, between the hours of 09:30 and 17:00, both departing and arriving guests will be sharing the chalet public areas.

Christmas and New Year:

Transfers:

Typically it takes 1 hour 30 minutes from Geneva Airport, plus 15 minutes for the snowcat to the chalet.

Shared Geneva Airport transfers are included in your chalet holiday.

Shared Transfer Restrictions
Arrivals on a Monday or Thursday
Please ensure your flights are scheduled to land no later than 16:00
You will be on a transfer within 2 hours of your scheduled flight landing time
Returning on a Monday or Thursday
Please ensure your flights are scheduled to depart after 11:00
You will be on a shared transfer to check in at the airport around 2-3 hours before your flight departs
The last shared transfer leaves Avoriaz at 17:30

Your shared transfer will normally be in an 8 seater minibus.

Private Transfers & Other Flight Times
If the shared transfer times do not work for your flight times, private transfers are available subject to availability.

If you would like an early transfer from Geneva airport to resort, to be on the slopes in the morning, we recommend upgrading to a private transfer - please enquire.

Further Important Transfer Information
Please advise us before travel of any ski or snowboard bags you are bringing with you, to ensure we book a suitable vehicle.

Getting To Your Chalet:
Your mini-bus transfer from the airport will drop you at the Avoriaz Welcome Station.

Also included in your chalet holiday with us is a snowcat resort taxi, to get you to and from the chalet door. This is a fun ride in a piste basher style vehicle, saving a 10 minute walk across snow from the Avoriaz Welcome Station, or you can take a magical horse and sleigh resort taxi (payable locally).
