Skiing in La Rosiere

Skiing Info

La Rosiere skiing

This ski area offers great all-round slopes and well-groomed pistes with plenty of tree runs, with wide blues and some testing reds. Although not as big as some of the other French ski resorts there is plenty for most skiers during a week's skiing in La Rosiere.  The resort is linked to La Thuile in Italy and forms the Espace San Bernardo ski region with 150km, of slopes. There are also some fantastic mountain restaurants scattered across the ski area, ideal for ski groups who like to explore.

Beginner Skiing La Rosiere *****

There are a total of 32 beginner pistes, which are nice and wide and not to steep making it an ideal resorts for families and first time skiers. Also the two main pistes that access the village are both very gentle; this is where the free nursery slopes are.

Intermediate Skiing La Rosiere *****

La Rosiere has 29 red runs for those skiers who have already mastered the basics and are looking to progress their ability. One of the more interesting red runs is the Fontaine Froide, dropping 750m through the woods to the Ecudets chair, far below the village with a charming mountain café at the bottom.

Advanced Skiing La Rosiere ***

There are only 13 black runs in this ski area, so not as many as in other resorts however La Rosiere does boast some of the best off-piste in the Alps, and offers off-piste guides and heliskiing. Some of the steepest slopes are on the La Thuile side, but we would recommend the La Rosiere side, down the Marcassin run to Le Vaz and down the Ecudets and Eterlou runs near the village.

Freestyle Skiing & Snowboarding La Rosiere ***

This resort is fantastic for snowboarders as many of the blue and red runs are nice and wide and not to steep, great for carving and cruising. There is one good-sized snow park that is well maintained and has some great views ideal for photos.

Freeride & Off Piste skiing La Rosiere ****

One of the best features of La Rosiere is that the off piste is phenomenal including a 20 Km off piste route into La Thuile, and is also one of the few French resorts to offer heli-skiing.
