With guaranteed snow all winter and 44km of downhill skiing (with a wealth of cross county skiing as well, see below) Levi is the biggest ski resort in Finnish Lapland. Ever year Levi hosts World Cup Ski Events which just goes to show the quality of the slopes on offer. There are also 17 floodlit piste which will keep the really keen skiers going even when the sun has gone down (they don't let the short days and long nights hold them back in Finland).

Night Skiing

Night skiing is one of the most exhilarating actives in which you can partake on a pair of skis and adds a really unique dimension to the skiing in Levi, giving it a real edge over its big brothers in the Alps. Finding 17 floodlit pistes in 1 resort in the Alps is simple not possible. The slopes are also very easy to access because they run right down into the centre of the resort which is not always the case in some Alpine counties such as Austria, whilst the slope are also uncrowded making for the perfect environment to learn to ski.

Cross Country Skiing in Levi

Levi is simply one of the best destinations in the world for cross country skiing. There are 230km of prepared trails and 28km of these are floodlit. There are even specific trails where you can ski with your dog! It feels as though there are endless routes on offer and there are plenty of sheltered resting spots and cafes along the way for a snack and a hot drink around a toastie open fire. Overnight stays are even possible in wilderness huts for a real feel of getting away from it all. There is cross country skiing on offer for all abilities and you can plan your routes to be as easy or as hard as you like with meticulously prepared tracks which are well signposted.
