Given that Schladming is a fully functioning, all year round mountain town, rather than a small little ski resorts, it will come as no surprise that it has a bustling town centre with loads going on. The nightlife and apres ski have a positively cosmopolitan feel to it with over 50 bars and just over 20 restaurants on offer. Popular bars include Hanglbar, Szenario and Siglu but there are plenty of other decent establishments to check out.

If you are looking for something for than just a few drinks to go along with your skiing then get yourself booked onto an excursion to the Dachstein Glacier or the Sky Walkway. The Dachstein Glacier has an awe-inspiring Ice Palace containing amazing ice sculptures, a Throne Room, a Crystal Doom and the Blue Saloon. The Sky Walkway is a viewing platform at 2700m with a transparent glass floor, where you can see below you straight down a rock face. The views are breathtaking on a clear day. You can reach both the Ice Palace from the Dachstein Gondola.
