Chalet Hotel Ducs de Savoie!
The popular Chalet Hotel Ducs de Savoie is in the very heart of Val d’Isère remains a firm favourite with Ski families, many of whom return every year! Traditionally appointed with warm wood tones and rich fabrics, this is one of those hotels that makes you feel welcome and comfortable from the moment you enter.
‘Location, location, location!’
The Ducs de Savoie is perfectly situated right in the very heart of Val d’Isère, yet conveniently set back from the main busy thoroughfares. A mere stone’s throw from the village centre, the hotel nestles in a side street close to the pedestrianised area and affords easy access to the centre, the main ski-lifts, the children’s nursery ski area and all the resort facilities.
Ski Area Access
What a pleasure it is to be staying at the Ducs de Savoie, and have only a mere 350m stroll to the choice of Val d’Isère’s three main high-speed lifts to whisk you up into the very heart of the skiing.
The Solaise Express chairlift goes straight to the Solaise peak at 2,560m, from where a choice of lifts and runs fans out, including the connections across to the Le Fornet area and the superb snow of the Pissaillas Glacier.
Alternatively, choose either the Bellevarde Express chair or the Olympique gondola to access the Rocher de Bellevarde, with its long cruising runs down to La Daille, and the connections across the Tovière ridge to the wonders of Tignes.
The children’s ski area and adult nursery slopes are also situated in the same base area as the above three lifts, so are equally convenient for our guests.
Yet more options are offered by the resort’s excellent free skibus, which stops just 30m from the Ducs de Savoie, to take you to Le Fornet or La Daille for an alternative starting point.
At the end of your ski day, pistes from both the Bellevarde and the Solaise sides of the valley run back to the same base area, giving you the choice of the short walk back to the Ducs de Savoie, or Val d’Isère’s wonderful selection of inviting cafés and bars for a relaxing après ski drink.

Meals in Chalet Hotel Ducs De Savoie, Val d'Isere
Fine Cuisine at Chalet Hotel Ducs de Savoie
Includes a skiers' buffet breakfast to start your day, afternoon tea to welcome you 'home', and 3 course evening meals with wine and coffee to complete the evening.
The staff prepare all your meals for you as described. The majority of parents feel that young children can inhibit the dinner-party atmosphere at evening meals, especially if they are over-tired, so children under 13 years are served High Tea at around 5.30pm. They are not then permitted to join adult dinner, as they are generally happier either getting some rest ready for tomorrow’s adventures, or if 6 years old or more, joining our child care staff in Cocoa Club.
On their day off per week, a full buffet breakfast will still be served to you as normal. That evening, you and your family then have the chance to eat out in one of the local cafés or restaurants, which your Rep will be happy to help you arrange.
Breakfast
A good breakfast is essential on a ski holiday, so we provide both a cooked breakfast including your choice of bacon, eggs, sausages and beans, as well as a continental selection with a choice of cereals or porridge, fruit juices, plentiful tea, coffee and bread (and croissants in France), cold meats, cheese and preserves, which is normally presented buffet-style for you to help yourself.
Piste Picnics
Our Chalet Hotel teams can also prepare a packed lunch for you on request, at a small local charge. For those keen to keep their Eurospending to an absolute minimum, this is the ideal way to keep your costs down!
Afternoon Tea
The traditional ‘welcome home’ after a day on the slopes will be laid out for you, ready for your return, every day except the team’s one day off each week. A good cup of tea or coffee is the perfect accompaniment to a delicious slice of freshly home-baked cake – featuring a selection of cakes for you to choose from.
Children’s High Tea
High Tea provides children under 13 with a healthy menu, but tailored more towards children’s tastes than our main adult dinner, and puréed food is also always available for infants on request. Parents are asked to accompany their children under 36 months at High Tea please, whilst children from 3-12 years will be supervised by staff.
Adult Dinner
Dinners for adults (and children 13 and over only) start with an apéritif, followed by an appetiser, main course and dessert or cheese board to top it all off. The meal is accompanied by a choice of wines, unlimited during the meal service, with freshly chilled water also always available, and followed by complimentary coffee or tea to round off your evening.
These ‘Culinary Choice’ adult dinners , comprising 4 courses, with a choice of menu for your enjoyment. Adults (and children 13 and over only) will be asked to choose their evening meals at breakfast for that evening, from a choice of two or three varied dishes, changing each day, always including a vegetarian option for each course.
Special Diets
Vegetarian options are always on our ‘Culinary Choice’ menu in our Chalet Hotels, and are available in our chalets if you advise us in advance. Other special diets can generally be catered for at a cost of £35 per person per week. Any dietary requirements must be advised to us at the time of booking in order for us to be fully prepared.
