The SkiWelt is Austria’s largest interconnected ski area, with 280km of pistes serviced by 90 modern ski lifts and cable cars. The SkiWelt ski area includes 9 great resorts Brixen im Thale, Ellmau, Going, Hopfgarten, Itter, Kelchsau, Scheffau, Soll and Westendorf.
The vast SkiWelt ski area is perfectly suited for intermediates, thanks to its large number of wide-open blue and red runs. It is possible for skiers of all levels to enjoy a ski safari from one village to another. One of most popular ski safaris is the “Hole Salve tour”- this is a circular tour around the highest peak in the SkiWelt, providing a stunning 360-degree view of the Kaiser Mountains and Austria’s highest mountain the Grossglockner (3,798m).
In the SkiWelt there are 77 rustic ski huts and après ski bars, perfect for any excuse to stop for lunch or a Gluhwein. Ellmau is a pretty village that is popular with families and couples who are looking for a resort full of Austrian character. Shcheffau is close to Ellmau and is a traditional village with great views of the Wider Kaiser Mountains. Soll has a pedestrianized center and is the liveliest village, in the SkiWelt with plenty of bars and restaurant and is home to the famous Whiskymuhle nightclub. Westendorf is located on the other side of the mountain, and is popular with families as the nursery slopes are close to the center. Westendorf is also popular with skiers who like to rack up the miles as the can ski both the SkiWelt and Kitzbuhel with the Kitzbuheler Alpen All Star Pass.Share on Twitter Share on Facebook
